Glory Days

Glory days well they'll pass you by

Glory days in the wink of a young girl's eye

Glory days, glory days..

..Now i think i'm going down to the well tonight
And i'm going to drink till i get my fill
And i hope when i get old i don't sit around thinking about it
But i probably will
Yeah, just sitting back trying to recapture
A little of the glory of, well time slips away
And leaves you with nothing mister but
Boring stories of glory days.

Superbad

"I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they always worked for me."

Wish You Were Here

..

How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have you found? The same old fears.
Wish you were here.

Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses?

..Took a drive in the dirty rain
To a place where the wind calls your name
Under the trees the river laughing at you and me
Hallelujah, heavens white rose
The doors you open
I just can't close..

The Gravity Express

Gravity Train

Ever heard of a gravity train? the concept is a solid one and has been around for almost 400 years.
Imagine a supertrain zooming through underground tunnels at tremendous speeds.

This train could be left to accelerate using just the force of gravity, since, during the first half of the trip (from the point of departure until the middle), the downwards pull towards the center of gravity would pull it towards the destination. During the second half of the trip, the acceleration would be in the opposite direction relative to the trajectory, but (ignoring the effects of friction) the speed acquired before would be enough to cancel this deceleration exactly (so that the train would reach its destination with speed equal to zero).

The Great Space Elevator

"If you die in an elevator, be sure to push the Up button."

Plans are afoot to create an actual elevator that ascends all the way into space, suspended by a paper-thin ribbon made of carbon nanotubes.

Travis Bickle

"You talkin' to me?

You talkin' to me?
You talkin' to me?
Then who the hell else are you talkin' to?
You talkin' to me?
Well I'm the only one here.."

..Then take me disappearin' through the smoke rings of my mind
Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves
The haunted, frightened trees, out to the windy beach
Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow.

Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free
Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands
With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves
Let me forget about today until tomorrow..
